We have a new partnership with Play It Again Sport!

Posted on by Gavin Holley

Play It Again Sport (PIAS) is an initiative for donating unwanted sport equipment and kit. It’s then sold at TooGoodToWaste at a very affordable price to individuals, teams and families that could otherwise not participate in sports due to increasing kit costs.

PIAS was the brainchild of a young person from Ynyshir who is a black belt and tutors children in karate, he has experience of young people not being able to participate in sport because their families can’t afford the kit needed.

Play It Again Sport has two aims in mind:

  • To provide sports kit at massively reduced prices in the Rhondda
  • To provide free items to groups who demonstrate a need – for example, later this month, for example, some of the profit from PIAS will help finance an inter-school rugby tournament for Rhondda primary schools at Sardis Road in Pontypridd.

All of us at Rhondda Housing Association are hoping to help! In our staff canteen we have a collection point for any and all donations. So if you have clean, usable sports gear you are willing to part with, you can donate them there. Bring them in and give them to the person on reception.

RCT is the least active county in Wales, by supporting this initiative we can play some part in encouraging a healthier lifestyle for our tenants and communities.

We are Finalists in the Welsh Housing Awards! Congratulations Janet to our Volunteer Tenant Boardmember!
