Unveiling our brand new Community Engagement Team

Posted on by Gavin Holley

We are proud to unveil our new Community Engagement team.  We have always had an established and well respected Community Development team but now the team is working in a different way. Our three engagement colleagues will link closely to the Housing Services team and are committed to working with community partners to deliver specialist services in three main areas of work: Tenant Involvement, Tenancy Sustainability and Partnerships & Volunteering.

The team is managed by Simone Devinett who is the Community Engagement Team Leader. Simone has an action plan to help achieve:

·         Sustainable and desirable neighbourhoods; by increasing involvement and volunteering opportunities

·         Sustaining tenancies and engaging with tenants who are hard to reach or in need of support

·         Grow our diverse opportunities for tenants to engage with us in reviewing and directing our services and continuously improve

Leigh Caveney: Get Involved – Tenant Involvement Officer

Leigh is working to increase the number of involved tenants and diversify methods of engagement, having an inclusive and flexible approach which means ensuring all tenants; including working tenants, young tenants and mature tenants have opportunities to engage.

Viki Owen: Get Set Project – Tenancy Sustainability Officer

Vikki works on our Get Set project which supports new tenants to manage their new homes. This unique early intervention support service works to improve tenancy sustainability, especially within the first 12 months. Encouraging our tenants to fully understand their obligations as a tenant, build essential skills for managing a home and to fully engage with their communities.
