RHA Wins the RSPCA Community Welfare Award

We are proudly celebrating our RSPCA Community Animal Welfare Scheme Bronze award!

Rhondda Housing Association and fourteen organisations across Wales have been recognised as part of RSPCA Cymru’s annual scheme.  The RSPCA “CAWF” award is a hugely well-regarded accolade which acknowledges good practice from local authorities, housing providers and other public bodies in relation to animal welfare.

We worked closely with our tenant volunteer group to gain our Bronze award in 2016, and again in 2017 so we are thrilled to maintain our award status, and ensure we work together toward improving responsible pet ownership and better animal welfare across the borough.

Paul Smith, RSPCA Cymru Public Affairs Manager, said: “How we treat our fellow living creatures’ matters so much to people – and this scheme is all about emphasising the practical, tangible but hugely beneficial steps which bodies can take to further animal welfare within their local communities.

If you would like to be involved in one of our voluntary groups that shape our services then email GetInvolved@rhondda.org or ring 01443 424200 and speak to a member of the Community Involvement team.
