RHA wins Gold at the Careers Wales Valued Partner Awards
November 26, 2018
Rhondda Housing Association has scooped an award for its work in helping students prepare for their future careers. RHA won a GOLD Valued Partner Award following its involvement in the Careers Wales Education Business Exchange programme. The Education Business Exchange is designed to help bridge the skills gap between education and employment by bringing schools and businesses together to inform, inspire and motivate young people about their future career opportunities.
Launched in 2018 by Careers Wales, the Valued Partner Awards has been organised to reward and say thanks to those businesses that have been instrumental in helping students with their future careers and supporting the work of Careers Wales. Over 40 companies from across Wales attended the award ceremony which was hosted by former BBC news anchor Sara Edwards, and awards were presented in the bronze, silver or gold categories. Whether it is offering work placements, to visiting schools and running mock interviews, the Education Business Exchange programme is making a really positive difference to our communities.
RHA is delighted to be a partner of the Careers Wales programme and honoured to have been awarded Gold. We attended the inaugural Valued Partner Award ceremony on Monday 26th November at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff.
Nikki Lawrence, Careers Wales Chief Executive, said: “The Valued Partner Award scheme is instrumental to the work Careers Wales does and we greatly appreciate the support we receive from each and every one of our Valued Partners. Ultimately, we’d like employers to feed into the national curriculum to ensure the skills students are developing will be useful to the evolving workplace. Without our Valued Partners, we wouldn’t be able to reach as many students at such a granular level and for that we are very grateful.”
