Our Board of Management

Our Board of Management is made up of tenant and non-tenant members.They have diverse work backgrounds including commerce, accountancy, construction, banking and public service and community focus. Our board members commit their time on a voluntary basis and strategically drives our organisation.

Our Board of Management:


Dave Power (Board Chair):

Former Chief Executive and Company Secretary of Housing Association for 10 years.

Previously operated at Senior and Middle Management levels with 5 Housing Associations and 2 Local Authorities over a 25 year period.

Retired Housing and Social Policy Lecturer.

Chair of RHA Scrutiny Committee (2015-17).

Vice Chair of RHA from 2017 onwards.

Jonathan Roberts (Vice-Chair):

Previously worked within the Royal Bank of Scotland Group before joining Santander in 2015. Extensive experience of finance across a wide range of sectors with a specialism around Real Estate. Jonathan has run a number of Teams and had responsibility for strategy, achieving challenging goals and people development.

John Watts:

Retired in 2010 after a long career in electrical engineering, which began in 1958 with an NCB apprenticeship at Tonypandy Powerhouse, moving on to Cambrian Colliery and Lady Windsor Colliery, before starting at Bamber Engineering, where he worked all over GB and completed a placement in China. A retired Rhondda Cynon Taf Councillor and former RCT Mayor 2014/15.

Pauline Thomas (Tenant Board Member):

Active member of my community volunteering for a number of different organisations including RHA’s internal groups which shape our services.

Pauline is the acting chair of Dementia Friendly Maerdy. Voluntary group

Sue Evans (Tenant Board Member):

Sue has been a tenant and a heavily involved volunteer for over ten years. Sue has also been a Samaritan for almost 30 years and at present is secretary of Samaritan Correspondence Branch. She has been a member of the Scout Association for almost 50 years and has recently taken over as treasurer of the local Scout Group.

For the past 12 years she has been a caseworker for a charity called SSAFA (Soldier, Sailor, and Airman Families Association) which helps serviceman and women past and present. She is also an active member in her local church and volunteers her time on RHA tenant groups

Janet Mulcock (Tenant Board Member):

A carer for disabled daughter who had a brain tumour at age 5, Janet first got involved with RHA on their Action For Change Advocacy Scheme.  Following 3 years volunteering at Remploy Porth, in 2014 she co-founded Phoenix Training & Development Initiative, which received a 2nd place award for LearnDirect 2015 Inspiration Awards.  Janet is carrying out classes aimed at reducing digital exclusion throughout RCT with many organisations.

Janet is incredibly passionate about being a voice for real people after seeing first-hand how society increasingly treats people as a number, not as a person. In 2017 she was awarded the National Women in Housing – Best Community Leader/Unsung Hero award and has been highly commended in many other prestigious award categories.



Mihail Mihaylov (Tenant Board Member):

Mihail is a translator, volunteer and Tenant Assessor Group member at RHA.

He joined our board in 2017.
