Treherbert Communities First Partnership

What do we do?

CwmNi is the name of the community regeneration partnership the villages of Blaenrhondda, Blaen-y-Cwm, Tynewydd, Treherbert and Pen-yr-Englyn and is here to help develop solutions to community needs by using the experience of local people alongside that of the professional agencies. CwmNi is dedicated to the regeneration of the 5 villages of the Upper Rhondda Fawr through the Welsh Assembly Government’s ‘Communities First’ initiative.

The name CwmNi was chosen following a public competition during the spring of 2002, and has three meanings when translated from Welsh into English: Our Valley, Togetherness and Business. The name represents the three basic principles of regeneration that CwmNi are striving to achieve.

Above all CwmNi is here to help the local community of the Treherbert Ward in aiming to achieve regeneration goals. We are always on hand to offer information or advice, and even signpost individuals onto advice and support agencies.
