Training, Volunteering and Employment

Volunteering, Training and Employment is the key to effective regeneration in disadvantaged areas.

Developing new routes into employment including apprenticeship schemes
Vocational skills building including the acquisition of IT skills
Basic skills building including financial literacy
The development of in-house and external work experience
The further development of job skills residentials
Advocacy services which remove personal barriers and help people into training or employment
Addressing barriers to engagement and/or employment e.g. tackling ill health; addressing basic skills needs

Our Big Lottery funded Advocacy Project works with tenants whom are unemployed supporting them back into training, volunteering and employment. Many tenants are long term unemployed with various physical and mental health needs. The project works with them on a 1-1 level to help them overcome barriers, increase self esteem and confidence, empowering them to access volunteering opportunities and training thus increasing their employability. The work is delivered on an individual basis, beneficiaries identify their own goals.

Our Advocacy project also works with partnership organisations and responds to many different needs and can offer training opportunities which could lead to employment routes. We have helped people access training in: Security training with the SIA certificate, the CSCS card, Customer Service with Call Centre Wales and various OCN’s.
