Our Executive Management Team
Lesley Davies – Chief Executive
Lesley qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the mid 1980’s and continue her career in practice with KPMG and also Spicer & Peglar, where she specialised in insolvency and taxation. Lesley moved to industry as group financial controller for AB Electronics, which at the time was South Wales’ largest private sector employer, with over 16,000 staff. As well as the group wide financial controller role, her particular focus was on managing the large and varied investment portfolio.
Following balancing a career and young family, Lesley moved to Rhondda Housing Association in the early 1990’s as its accountant and became Finance Director in 1999, and from 2003 combining the FD’s role with Deputy Chief Executive. From 2007 Lesley became the Chief Executive.
Since 2007 Lesley has overseen substantial change at the Association, including a 21 month de-merger, followed by re-building of the board, executive and management teams, growth in the business leading to the development of new offices and further growth in development activity
Sean Tristham – Director of Development and Asset Management
Having had a varied career in his formative years working at places such as H.M Land Registry, Aardmam Animation and Telecom Australia Sean began his Housing Career in 1998 at Swansea Housing Association as a Development Officer. His time at Swansea (soon to become Coastal) saw him develop a swathe of mixed-use, mixed tenure schemes from one off bespoke bungalows to large estate and town centre regeneration schemes. He played a pivotal role in assembling Coastal’s flagship Urban Village Scheme.
Sean joined the Association in February 2011 as the Director of Development and Asset Management. Starting with a blank canvas the past four years has seen us develop over 200 new units on a mixed use, mixed tenure basis. The current approved programme is circa £10m
Luke Takeuchi – Director of Housing Services
Luke has worked in housing for over 15 years within both the local authority and housing association sector. He qualified with an MSc in Housing from Cardiff University. He is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Following several years working for local authorities in Wales, Luke moved to England to work for Places for People, one of the largest property management and development companies in the UK. Luke led large multi functional housing teams in the South West and North West of England whilst working as the Regional Manager. Luke has extensive experience in delivering high quality housing management services and implementing housing led regeneration projects to improve communities. In 2014 Luke returned to live in and work in Wales and begin his new role as Director of Housing Services with Rhondda Housing Association. During this time Luke has led on implementing new neighbourhood planning / asset management software, significantly improving performance in core housing services and ensuring that the team are equipped for the external changes within the sector such as welfare reform. Luke is committed to providing strong performance within the team and delivering services that are of real benefit to our tenants.
Brian Pickett – Director of Finance & IT
Brian is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, having qualified in 1994 and more recently obtained an executive MBA from Warwick Business School. He has worked across the public and private sectors, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Standard Chartered Bank, the Audit Commission and National Audit Office. He joined Rhondda Housing Association as its Finance Director in January 2015, following a period with Welsh Government. At Welsh Government he was the Head of Innovative Funding for Housing and Regeneration and oversaw the implementation of the Welsh Housing Bond with M&G Investments and a new revenue funding stream to deliver 1,000 new affordable homes across Wales.
